Yesterday was the last day of Gary’s chemo treatment for three weeks. We have him set up with a Dr. in Sevierville, TN for his next encounter with drugs. I hope it continues to go as well as it has been – no side effects at all. He did get a little dehydrated Sat. night but it’s amazing what water will do to calm you down. He was fine the next day.
We did a little shopping (at least I did) and enjoyed visiting my old store haunts once more before we move north. But a line of strong storms was coming our way on the day we were supposed to leave, so we waited to see how bad they would be. We hate driving in bad weather, like any RVer I suppose.
Yep, it was going to be bad enough to stay one more night. When we got back home, we put everything away in the basement and rolled up the awning. It was hot and muggy and we needed the fan on all night.
Around 9 am the storms hit. They were a lot worse in other areas of Florida, but we got strong winds and heavy rain for about an hour. I believe the storms were a lot worse last week. By 2 pm the sun was trying really hard to peek through the leftover clouds.
We stopped by the office and they completely understood why we didn’t head out in the rain. Just stay another night, they offered. Well, OK!
I made some calls to the campgrounds we will be staying at on our way north, and they all said there was plenty of room. So we are basically killing time until we hit the road tomorrow morning.
We love our home in Florida, but are really looking forward to working in Dollywood and seeing our grandchildren from Raleigh. This is the fun life, for sure. For sure.
